The Go-Go Gatsby

A Gatsby cover with a distinct seventies vibe. (Are those mirrored lights and lines of cocaine?) The imagery works, though, because the Disco Decade comes closest to matching the Roaring Twenties for Calamity Glam.

By the way, the component parts of this cover are almost identical to that of the Vintage Classics edition from the same year: a stylized title, bylines for the author and introduction writer, a dramatic image of the grill of a car, and an illustrated background.

Pros

Unlike the Vintage Classics edition, this cover does not rely on clichés like art deco typography. And this car grill is, like Gatsby, is simultaneously romantic and threatening.
